November meeting features panel on green communications
The November meeting of the Public Relations Network of Sioux Falls is a panel discussion on Green Communications. One of the fastest growing communications challenges facing businesses today is their environmental impact. This panel will help organizations benefit from being environmentally conscious and how they can communicate that to the public. The distinguished panel of speakers from local businesses will share their first-hand experiences.
The first is Anne Haber of Howalt McDowell. Anne has been in the news a lot lately promoting Cherapa Place, a LEED-Certified Office Building in Downtown Sioux Falls. Here's an interview with Anne that ran on KELO-TV:
The second panelist is Jake Anderson, owner of Millennium Recycling. Millennium has also been in the Argus Leader several times lately for offering glass recycling, working with the city to provide free electronics recycling for a day and being the local drop-off for the Sony "Take
Back Recycling program."
The third panelist is Greg Veerman of Astronaut, a brand studio that focuses on sustainable products and services. Greg blogs about green advertising and marketing at It Grows on Trees.
The panel will be moderated by PRN President Nathan Schock, director of public relations for POET, the largest producer of biofuels in the world. Nathan blogs about green communications at Greenway Communique.
The lunch meeting is in the Nebraska Room of the Oaks Hotel in Sioux Falls, S.D. from 11:45-1:00. The cost is $10 for members and $13 for guests. To attend, please RSVP before noon on November 5 by emailing prnsiouxfalls (at) yahoo (dot) com.
