Marketing Sherpa: your ticket to FAME
Would you have an easier time pitching stories if you could first have a conversation with every reporter on what stories they're looking for and how the like to be pitched? Of course you would. While that is unlikely to happen any time in the near future, there is someone who is having that conversation for you: Marketing Sherpa. After a long hiatus, Marketing Sherpa is back with their FAME interview series, where they interview leading journalists on their pitching preferences and then impart those tips to their readers. Late last week, they posted an interview with Stuart Elliott of the New York Times in their Marketing Journalists Profiles. They also recently posted an interview with Paul Maidment of Forbes.com in the General Business Journalists Profiles section.
In an email today, marketing Sherpa promised interviews every week for the next 200 weeks. Chances are that one of those journalists will be someone you (or a client) would like to know. Actually, you can make sure that they are by suggesting a journalist to Editorial Director Tad Clarke at TadC(at)MarketingSherpa(dot)com.
The interviews can be viewed for free for short time and then for a $5 fee. You can also sign up for the email newsletter here so that you won't miss an issue. If media relations is a part of your duties, you'll want to pay attention to the Marketing Sherpa FAME series.
